The little understood secret of unhealthy eating!!!!





I tell my mum, we should not eat fruits after meals!!!!!! and all she has to say is we have been doing it for years and nothings wrong with it.

I tell my husband not to mix milk with other food for breakfast, and he laughs it of saying he can have milk anytime any number of times a day.

Its well said that old habits die hard. and I have no proofs to show that their tummies are suffering because of their food choices and eating habits. all I know is when I was distressed with my health issues I came across an article which read - Wanna get rid of all stomach ailments - Eat the right combination of food.

Simply putting it means, eat every thing, no restrictions whatsoever but eat it with the right combinations. And when I say right combinations I mean know which foods are basic and which are acidic and never try to miss the 2 types in one meal.

Acidic foods are the ones which secrete acids in our stomach and basic ones produce Alkaline juices to be digested.


And the best practice for a healthy stomach is to keep it Alkaline.

Few very basic rules of food combining are listed below.



* Eat acids and starches at separate meals. Acids neutralize the alkaline medium required for starch digestion and the result is fermentation and indigestion.
* Eat protein foods and carbohydrate foods at separate meals. Protein foods require an acid medium for digestion.
* Eat but one kind of protein food at a meal.
* Eat proteins and acid foods at separate meals. The acids of acid foods inhibit the secretion of the digestive acids required for protein digestion. Undigested protein putrefies in bacterial decomposition and produces some potent poisons.
* Eat fats and proteins at separate meals. Some foods, especially nuts, are over 50% fat and require hours for digestion.
* Eat sugars (fruits) and proteins at separate meals.
* Eat sugars (fruits) and starchy foods at separate meals. Fruits undergo no digestion in the stomach and are held up if eaten with foods that require digestion in the stomach.
* Eat melons alone. They combine with almost no other food.


Problems you and I can solve and prevent from not occuring are as below:

Avoid excessive gas, bloating, heart burn, acid reflux, constipation

Sins of Old Age

My heart goes out to all people over the age of 75 who once lived life king size, but today they have no aim and purpose in life. Nor do they have the will to survive because of the immense pain and shame that they go through.

Pain as their organs refuse to function properly and every day a new problem crops up.
Shame as they have lost all privacy, right from their bathing to visits to the loo to their eating is done with the aid of nurses or attendants.


Not sure if its right to use the term FAD for this trend of Day and Night Attendants as its more out of Necessity than fashion that you hire them.

Unfortunate for their relatives who can do nothing but ensure and try to keep them as comfortably as possible. it takes a lot of patience to deal with all of this.

Whats is God's intention behind it but I hope its for a good reason.

Still thinking why things have to take this Turn.

There was a time I used to detest Ghee and call it yucky until i realized its health benefits, not one but many.


Benefits of Ghee Include:
  1. Ghee stimulates the secretion of stomach acids to help with digestion, while other fats, such as butter and oils, slow down the digestive process and can sit heavy in the stomach.

  5. Ghee benefits those who are lactose intolerant because ghee is lactose free, Ghee is also Salt free
  6. Contains CLA or conjugated linolenic acid which helps to promote weightloss and aids in getting rid of belly fat so its a mith that Ghee chopti rottis will make you fat :)
  7. Its said to improve longevity though not proved 100% true yet
  8. Ghee is said to have anti-cancer and anti-viral properties.
  9. Ghee is recommended for internal body cleaning. A teaspoon or two when taken with hot water in the morning would immediately induce bowel movement. Best is Ghee doesnt burn easily. If you're the kind of person who burns everything that you cook then you have probably burned butter in the past. You are not likely to have that problem with ghee.

Food and Me

My jaundice some 2 years back has changed my attitude towards food and now eating is a more concious activity rather that mindless gobbling. I have been reading a lot on the internet, to the point of being called insane by friends and family. but I continue to do so as I seem to enjoy the fact there is so much unkown to me at this point in time about our body and the food we eat.this is an effort to put most of my learning in one place readily available for a quick read whenever required.I hope I do justice to my findings and my health!!!!!!!!!!!
