Ghee Ayurveda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a time I used to detest Ghee and call it yucky until i realized its health benefits, not one but many.

Benefits of Ghee Include:
  1. Ghee stimulates the secretion of stomach acids to help with digestion, while other fats, such as butter and oils, slow down the digestive process and can sit heavy in the stomach.
  2. It is said to make your Skin Glow!!!!!!!!!
  3. It is rich with antioxidants and acts as an aid in the absorption of vitamins and minerals from other foods
  4. Ghee is said to promote learning and increased memory retention
  5. Ghee benefits those who are lactose intolerant because ghee is lactose free, Ghee is also Salt free
  6. Contains CLA or conjugated linolenic acid which helps to promote weightloss and aids in getting rid of belly fat so its a mith that Ghee chopti rottis will make you fat :)
  7. Its said to improve longevity though not proved 100% true yet
  8. Ghee is said to have anti-cancer and anti-viral properties.
  9. Ghee is recommended for internal body cleaning. A teaspoon or two when taken with hot water in the morning would immediately induce bowel movement. When taken before bedtime, it could help normalize and smoothen the bowel flow in the morning.Read more: http://www.articlesbase.com/health-articles/qualities-and-benefits-of-ghee-ayurveda-1244812.html#ixzz0yHkaWzuR

Best is Ghee doesnt burn easily. If you're the kind of person who burns everything that you cook then you have probably burned butter in the past. You are not likely to have that problem with ghee.

  1. Supriya,
I love learning about Ayurveda healing and nutrition from India! Thank you for your post on Ghee....now from a West Texan...what is Ghee? It sounds like you use it instead of butter for cooking or ingesting as a thickener? Do you happen to have any recipes? Do you have a place in particular where you find Ghee??
    Thank you so much!
    Blessings and health,
    Sandi Buchanan
